Amuras (on the Marina) Early evening. sunsetThis bar has the perfect location overlooking the Marina, with a view across the water to the town. It is our perfect spot for a pre dinner drink, to settle in at one of the tables facing the Marina with a cold beer and watch the sun set over the Marina and watch the world go by before we head off to eat. The beer is a good price (happy hour is 5-8) and there is live music on Friday nights. The bar sells cocktails - spirits - beers - wines, non alcoholic cocktails and refreshments. They also serve English breakfast and lunch snacks all night long. Sky TV - sports bar happy hour 5pm - 8 pm (house |
Zanzibar, later eveningThis is our favourite bar, bar none, open until 4am-ish, crowded and funky. The bar manager, Alex (in the photo) is the best barman in town, speaks every language going and creates a great atmosphere. In our opinion the cocktails here are the best in town and the staff make you very welcome. My wife swears that the Pina Colada is the best that she has ever tasted. They know how to make cocktails !and they are only 3-4 Euros each. The music tends to be rock based a |
Nah Nah BarOk, this is as much of a restaurant as it is a bar, attracting a young crowd (and older ones like us too). However, we had to mention because we like it so much. Nah Nah Bar is a cool, chilled out bar, a great place to hang out with friends. Be sure to try the excellent Bottom Line Cocktail, a potent mix of spirits, juice and fresh mint. WOW! Also a great place to eat with fresh, delicious food at great prices. They serve cocktails and they play excellent reggae music. The food is superb too, serving the best (restaurant quality) burgers in town. The humous and nachos starters are also great. This is a bar to just kick back in and chill. The sangria is also wonderful. A popular Aussie gathering spot for fat burgers, tuna melts, organic muesli and other fare. Grass-hut, Polynesian-type decor. |
Stevie RaysThis intimate two-level candlelit joint is the best live (late) music bar in town. On weekends it has live blues and jazz. It attracts a smart-casual older crowd. This bar tends to suit an older crowd, middle aged onwards until the live music kicks in on A Friday or Saturday night (late) when the place becomes packed to the rafters and with a happy crowd across the age spectrum. Definitely a good bar for a more sophisticated, cosy, laid back atmosphere with the music specialising in blues, jazz and swing. Live music Fridays and Saturdays of a really high standard especially if DJ Toby One is on the decks. Drinks are not cheap on music nights though but we still love there and always try to make a DJ Toby One night. |
