Overview
Lagos has a network of local buses that make it very easy to get around very cheaply. The network is called 'Onda' (for a time table click the image below) and basically has 7 routes but with the addition of a special summer evening route that runs for July and August : The buses run between 7am and 8pm every day (the last circuit starts around 7.15pm). Linha 1 and 3 run every 30 minutes during the week then from Saturday after 2pm and Sundays/holidays every hour. Linha 2 and 4 run every 40 minutes during the week then every 80 minutes from Saturday 2pm. Linha 5, 6 and 7 have less frequent services with 9 buses daily during the week, 7 at weekends and 5 on Sundays and holidays. All the lines call at the Sports Complex and all but the Azul line call at the Praça Infante D. Henrique so it is easy to change between lines. The prices are zoned according to distance but all journeys on the red and blue lines cost 1€ per journey, 50 cents if pre-paid before you board and 3 euros for a daily ticket. The longer journeys like to Luz or Barão S. João (for a day at the zoo!) cost 1,30€ per journey, 65 cents if prepaid and still 3€ for a daily ticket. (Prices checked May 2008).Routes
